We are a trusted platform for creating community solutions and collaborating on local areas of need.
The Needs Based Fund
is for residents in Pettis County, MO over the age of 18 who experience an emergency or vital need that is not able to be met by another organization or resource in the community (for example, auto repair, housing assistance, and utilities). Through the Needs Based Fund, the United Way of Pettis County hopes to help working families through hard times so they can maintain financial stability. By stepping in early with minimal financial assistance offered at the right time, we keep households from hitting rock bottom and needing many thousands of dollars of additional financial assistance later. The maximum grant that can be accessed by a household is up to $500 over a 12-month period. In 2024, we assisted 32 households with total assistance of over $12,300. In 2025, we served 282 households with various emergency needs and granted over $103,000 in assistance.
ToRCH (Transformation of Rural Community Health) Environmental Modifications
Improves living conditions for those on Medicaid. In 2024 and 2025, we have served 89 households with over $400,000 in environmental modifications to improve the health and safety of their homes.
Mercy Services United
is a collaboration between agencies to meet with clients and provide programs, support, and resources. In April 2025 we joined others to assist in opening Mercy Services United (MSU). The space is set up as a walk-in hub providing an initial holistic needs assessment for clients. Social service professionals from 8 nonprofit organizations assist clients to identify and address challenging issues keeping them from thriving. MSU also has laundry, shower, mail, and communication services to provide day-to-day amenities for those in need. Since opening in April 2025, we have served over 500 clients.
